PRINCIPAL


Miss Julie, MBTDA, Dip.RSA
Julie trained at the Rosalind Caplis Academy of Dancing in Warwick and the Oakley School of Dancing in Royal Leamington Spa. Julie studied all the different disciplines of dance – Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Greek and National.
In addition to her teaching qualifications, Julie holds an Aerobics Diploma and an NVQ Level 4 in Delivering an Artform. Julie also holds a First Aid Certificate and is CRB checked.
After gaining her teaching qualifications, Julie danced on stage in many musical productions and operas, such as Oliver, Macbeth, Aida, Faust, and Tourandot.
After moving to Sutton Coldfield, Julie continued to dance for local operatic companies at venues such as The Crescent Theatre, Highbury Little Theatre and Sutton Town Hall, and has also taken part in Fashion Shows throughout the West Midlands.
Julie then opened her School in 1989, which has gone from strength to strength, with pupils achieving higher than average marks in medal tests and examinations. She is also involved in choreography for stage shows and adjudicates at dance festivals.
Julie has also studied Ballroom, Latin American and Sequence dancing and recently appeared in the premiere of Armageddon and Fishcakes, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.


ASSISTANT TEACHERS


Miss Diana
Diana has been a pupil of Julie's for many years and has performed in many stage shows, including pantomime, variety performances and musicals.
Diana has danced at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as local venues, such as the Lichfield Garrick Theatre, Sutton Coldfield College, Sutton Town Hall and Sutton Arts Theatre.
Diana is a Student Member of the British Theatre Dance Association and is studying to take further Teaching Qualifications.


Miss Nicola
Nicola can be found on Reception on a Saturday as well as assisting in classes. Nicola was a student of Julie's for many years. Having attended University she now works full-time and also dances professionally on a part-time basis.
Nicola has plenty of Stage and catwalk experience and holds her teaching qualifications.


Miss Emma
Emma has now completed her degree at University and is back with Julie studying to complete all of her teaching qualifications.
Emma is very experienced and has danced at Her Majesty's Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, Sutton College Theatre, Sutton Town Hall, Highbury Little Theatre, Sutton Arts Centre, Streetly Community Centre and the Lichfield Garrick.
Emma has also choreographed shows for local theatre companies.


Miss Jodie
Jodie has been studying Ballet with Miss Julie for many years and has taken part in lots of Shows as well as doing medal work. She is about to take her Student Teachers exam with the British Theatre Dance Association.

Miss Ellie, A.L.C.M., L.L.C.M. BA (hons.)
Ellie has been involved in performing arts since she was four. After training with LAMDA she moved to Liverpool to undertake a degree in Drama and music studies. After graduating, she then embarked on a masters degree programme with the De Montfort University, Leicester.
Ellie has also spent time in America working as the head of drama in a performing arts camp, as well as travelling all over the U.K. working for various performing arts companies as a specialist movement director. As well as teaching Drama and Singing, Eleanor also teaches Stage and Film Make-up and Mime, Verse and Prose.
Ellie has a wealth of experience with musical theatre, and was a professional singer performing on stages ranging from the London Palladium to Birmingham Symphony Hall, and has worked with people such as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Lloyd Webber. Professionally trained by the same vocal coach who taught the likes of Michael Ball, Ellie continues to sing on a part time basis.
